Why is the Twilight cover girl holding an apple? Does she want to keep the doctor away from Edward?

Stephenie Meyer has stated that the apple on the cover represents the forbidden fruit from the book of Genesis. It symbolizes Bella and Edward's love, which is forbidden, similar to the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, as is implied by the quote from Genesis 2:17 that is quoted at the beginning of the book. It also represents Bella's knowledge of what good and evil are, and the choice that she has in partaking of the ';forbidden fruit';, Edward, or choosing not to see him.

I hope this helps! Why is the Twilight cover girl holding an apple? Does she want to keep the doctor away from Edward?
It is considered as the ';Forbidden Fruit'; like in Genesis. Adam and Eve ate the apple even though they knew it was not allowed. Likewise, Bella and Edward know their love is forbidden. This is the main reason, and Meyer explains it a little better on her website: http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/twilight_f鈥?/a>Why is the Twilight cover girl holding an apple? okay so as someone said before the apple in the hands represent ';Forbidden Fruit'; as in Adam and Eve in the bible. This meant alot to Stephenie. However when someone asked her ';What kind of flower is that on the cover, and what does it mean?'; She had this to say....

.'; That is a ruffled tulip. As for the meaning鈥?If you've read the Twilight faq, you know that the apple cover had a lot of meaning for me, and I was an active part of the covering process. However, that experience is more the exception than the rule in the publishing world. Something to keep in mind if you intend to embark on a career as a writer: lots of things you might expect to be under your control are not. Covers, for example. Those are mostly up to the publisher and the marketing and sales departments. So I don't know what the tulip means鈥擨 didn't have anything to do with this one.';

so I think what they want us to do is infer our own meanings from them. they might mean something different to you than they do to anyone else, and that might be why you love them so much. hope this helped.

i love edward!

howvere i believe that yes; she wanted to keep him away from the doctor. because the doctor would find out he is a vampire and all havoc would break looose.
Your question has definitely been answered, but I wanted to say I loved your joke. I saw someone mentioned Smeyer's site, so I'll link you to it! Everything you did and did not want to know about the series is there.
The apple has always been known as the ';forbidden fruit';. In the bible Eve ate a apple from the tree they were forbidden to eat from. The cover respresents how Edward is forbidden, but Bella chooses him anyway.
The apple represents temptation. An apple is known as a forbidden fruit and normal when something is forbidden people want it even more.
the apple is also known as the forbidden fruit.

like eve %26amp; adam.

%26amp; bella %26amp; edward has a forbidden love considering he's a vampire , and she's a mortal.
Ha. That's funny.

If you seriously want to know then go to Steph's website. click on Twilight and go to the Q%26amp;A it is on there.

And i've always wanted to know what the Forbidden Fruit is anyway....
no the apple represents the forbidden fruit (like how bella and edwards relationship shouldn't be)
i guess its a biblical allusion to the apple and temptation

dont quote me though, but im pretty sure
the forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest.

seriously.

that's why.
an apple represents forbidden fruit
in the movie edward throws the apple on his foot and catches it with his hands
what do you mean ';does she want to keep the doctor away from edward'; ?
you know what i was thinking the same thing
